How I Entered Physical Therapy

Growing up in India, like many, I was faced with two career paths: becoming an engineer or a doctor. I chose the path of becoming a doctor, but pursuing a Medical Doctor degree felt overwhelming. Fortunately, my family recognized my compassionate nature and helped me discover physical therapy as a fulfilling career. They supported me emotionally and financially, for which I will always be deeply grateful.

My Professional Growth

I gained valuable knowledge in exercise, health, and wellness through my education and work experience as a physical therapist in both India and the USA.

My Journey in the USA

The key to my success was the opportunity to complete the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Utah. It took four years of determination to meet the international student requirements and earn my degree. The process was challenging, especially dealing with cultural shock and managing a heavy academic load of 16 credit hours per semester. I am deeply grateful to my professors and friends who supported me during those early, difficult years.

While studying, I utilized the university gym and swimming facilities to transform my physical health alongside building my professional skills. The next major challenges included earning my physical therapy license, getting married, and navigating the pressures of corporate culture in my early career.

Spiritual and Emotional Growth

My journey toward spiritual and emotional well-being began with Sadhguru’s teachings, which inspired me to discover my true potential. Over time, I expanded my knowledge through the teachings of other spiritual leaders, including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Guruji, Padma Shri Garikipati Narasimha Rao, Deepak Chopra, Swami Sarvapriyananda, Dandapani, BV Pattabhiram, and various motivational sources like The School of Greatness.

I started as an average person, but learning from these guides transformed my perspective on life and showed me the power of being human.
